{"id":1264,"date":"2017-12-11T22:41:03","date_gmt":"2017-12-12T03:41:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.joshuastairhime.com\/?p=1264"},"modified":"2018-12-04T23:03:08","modified_gmt":"2018-12-05T04:03:08","slug":"dove","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.joshuastairhime.com\/index.php\/dove\/","title":{"rendered":"Dove (DOP #8 2017)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>If you are enjoying this series of posts, remember to Like and Share your favorites, and don&#8217;t forget to Subscribe!\u00a0 It encourages me to know that others are reading these posts, and makes it a little easier to keep going!<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>For whatever reason, the dove is an international symbol of peace, understood by many cultures.\u00a0 Wikipedia has collected several theories about the origins of the symbolism, so go check it out if you happen to be interested.<\/p>\n<p>I was looking at a stained glass window the other day, and it had several doves on it, and a depiction of Jesus, which is not uncommon for stained glass.\u00a0 This particular depiction of Jesus was built!\u00a0 He was much more trapezoidal than I remember other Jesus depictions being, but as I looked at the picture more closely, in addition to noticing Jesus&#8217; physique,\u00a0 I also noticed that Jesus was feeding the doves.<\/p>\n<p>In a flash I saw the symbolism of the Prince of Peace feeding the representative of peace.\u00a0 The dove was being fed by the only who could truly feed it.\u00a0 From the hand of Jesus, peace is fed.<\/p>\n<p>Let us not forget that Jesus came to bring peace between God and Man, and tasked us with sharing that same peace with others.\u00a0 He feeds us from his hand, so that we can be representatives of that peace, to those who are without hope.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps if we truly hunger for peace, we will be fed from the hand of God.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Be sure to check out the other people on the journey with me at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.254peace.org\/\">254peace.org<\/a>, or on our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/25-Days-for-Peace-1000950843289830\/\">Facebook page<\/a>.\u00a0 There are some awesome people participating this year, and they all have something important to say.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<!-- JoshuaStairhime.com --><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-0933436752356347\" data-ad-slot=\"8645915170\" data-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<div class=\"sharedaddy sd-sharing-enabled\"><div class=\"robots-nocontent sd-block sd-social sd-social-icon sd-sharing\"><h3 class=\"sd-title\">Did you enjoy what you just read?
