{"id":945,"date":"2015-12-19T22:35:03","date_gmt":"2015-12-20T03:35:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.joshuastairhime.com\/?p=945"},"modified":"2018-12-04T22:39:45","modified_gmt":"2018-12-05T03:39:45","slug":"945","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.joshuastairhime.com\/index.php\/945\/","title":{"rendered":"Like a bug&#8230;(DOP #19 2015)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I spend a lot of my time thinking about how impossible it is for me to really change anything in the world. \u00a0It can be a big downer, especially as I spend time writing about peace and realizing how little I can do to bring change the big issues.<\/p>\n<p>I only have so much time, money, and influence. \u00a0My resources are limited.<\/p>\n<p>Of course that isn&#8217;t the whole story. \u00a0While I realize how powerless I am to enact sweeping change, I look at the people around me who are also working towards peace and I am encouraged.<\/p>\n<p>We are all small people, but together we can achieve much.<\/p>\n<p>In Haiti, I kept running into ants. \u00a0Small little bugs, that can&#8217;t really do much on their own, but together I watched them carry a cracker larger than all of them combined towards their home. \u00a0One day I&#8217;ll post the video from it, it was mesmerizing to watch.<\/p>\n<p>We are small, but if we find a common goal and strive towards it, we can do huge things together. \u00a0The more people involved, the more possible world peace becomes.<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-vimeo\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/149562243\" width=\"625\" height=\"352\" frameborder=\"0\" webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<div class=\"sharedaddy sd-sharing-enabled\"><div class=\"robots-nocontent sd-block sd-social sd-social-icon sd-sharing\"><h3 class=\"sd-title\">Did you enjoy what you just read?
