{"id":973,"date":"2015-12-25T01:05:32","date_gmt":"2015-12-25T06:05:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.joshuastairhime.com\/?p=973"},"modified":"2018-12-04T22:37:59","modified_gmt":"2018-12-05T03:37:59","slug":"24-expectation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.joshuastairhime.com\/index.php\/24-expectation\/","title":{"rendered":"Expectation (DOP #24 2015)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m old enough to know that Santa isn&#8217;t real. \u00a0I know where the presents under the tree come from, and I even get to help provide them this year. \u00a0Hours and hours of hard work went into the Christmas eve services I was at, and anything I eat tomorrow will have been made by someone (possibly me&#8230;possibly not). \u00a0It takes so much time and effort to pull off a &#8220;successful&#8221; and enjoyable Christmas celebration in this day and age.<\/p>\n<p>Even though I know that every part of the celebration I am expecting tomorrow will have been prepared by human hands, I am still hoping for more. \u00a0Even though I know the &#8220;magical&#8221; elements of a Christmas celebration are often clever trickery and manipulation, I am still hoping for more.<\/p>\n<p>I am hoping that the Prince of Peace will show up.<\/p>\n<p>Without the arrival of Jesus, the whole celebration would be meaningless. \u00a0I expect him to reveal some truth about himself in a new way. \u00a0Just like he did 2000+- years ago.
