Tonight we had another prayer time, followed by our first scripted video shoot!
During prayer I think God brought to mind a connection to make between the Haitians and scripture.
When God lead the Isrealites out of Eygpt, they spent 40 years in the desert before they were able to enter the “promised land”. During those 40 years, the entire nation lived in tents…similar to the way many Haitians are living now.
The trip didn’t need to be 40 years long, but because of sin in the lives of certain Isrealites, God chose to allow them to wander until they were ready to obey Him.
Perhaps this is what has happened to the nation of Haiti. God is calling them out of their slavery, and for a while God has brought them into a life of tents. Their sin has slowed them down (for example dictators who have stolen from the nation) but just as the Isrealites were provided for, God wants to provide for the Haitians as well. Perhaps God wants to meet their needs through His miraculous provision.
If we are the body (of Christ)…we should be meeting their needs.
Perhaps in this situation we can be the “manna” from heaven that sustains a nation for Gods glory.
We are focused on bringing homes to 2 Haitian families.
